WIP: Kapitan Ivanka Kuganova

I was able to whip up a base for the good Kapitan this morning:

I drilled a hole in her right foot to secure a small piece of paper clip that would better secure the figure to it's 28mm base.

Unfortunately the process may have created a small fracture in the figure's right ankle...I may use JB Weld to Reinforce it (unless a reader knows of a better option).

My Current 2,000 Point BA List

After some trial, and lots of error (error related more to my 'generalling , or lack thereof) I have settled on a list that provides me utility at the expense of fun assault.

This list actually leads me away from large, fun assault units; instead favoring Multiple Small Units MSU).

Wow: Raging Heroes

When Six and I first started amassing our relative armies (he the Death Korp of Kriegs; me the Blood Angels), he treated me to Land Raider doors from Forge World. Later he set aside a FW plasma gun for a Mephiston kit-bash I had in mind.

Vindicator WIP: Magnetized Rhino Chassis

Today being Tuesday, I'm going to enjoy a night of 40K at Olympic Cards and Comics. Yesterday I had a little time that I devoted to assembling two Vindicator tanks that I'd like to use in my list.

TSFH New Release: Arch Angel

One of the composers in my playlist that I enjoy when modeling and painting is Two Steps From Hell. If you watch TV or have been to the movies, then more than likely you have, perhaps unwittingly, heard their music. The group just released a new album for public consumption: Arch Angel.

"Do you want to win me?"

We are on the doorstep of Fall, waving good bye to Summer. Back to school. Back to work. Back to short, cold, dark days...and the perfect time for a give-away!

Yesterday, Six-Deucer and I threw our hat in and participated in the 2,000 point teams tournament MC'd by Dante of Warsound, and hosted by Gabi at Olympic Cards and Comics (OCC). We met up at OCC a little after 10:00, as dice were supposed to drop around 11:00 hours.

Stop what you are doing. Listen carefully...

Do you hear that? The sound of angels singing? I finally primed some of my army.

Status Update: WiPs Including Astorath Fine Cast

I have managed a considerable amount of hobby time over the last week. As a result, I have been able to complete models, magnetize them, and begin the basing process.

Tuesday Throwdown 08/23

Hydra's love eating Storm Raven's for lunch! Numnumnum!

Tuesday, Six and I were able to get a portion of a game in before Olympic Cards and Comics closed. We played Annihilation, with Dawn of War (surprise!) deployment. I tweaked my list ever so slightly to include a magna-grapple for my Furioso:

Tuesday Throwdown 08 09 2011

I didn't get to play 40K last night due to working 60 hours this week. I did, however, manage an hour to work on completing my Storm Raven.

Forge World's Boarding Marine in MK III armor.

My Forge World (FW) Boarding Marine arrived in the mail today, and I have to say it looks amazing. Forge World sculpts never cease to impress me.

NOOB Questions: Rule Clarification(s)

I'm hoping my readers might assist in clearing up a few rule questions Jancoran posed on the Warsound forums recently. Jancoran is by no means a noob, however, I am- and I believe a couple of the questions he posed were for my benefit.

Tuesday Throw Down Recap: 07 29 2011

Real marines deep strike with their helmets' OFF.

So a couple of cool things happened over the last three days: I won a 40K game for the first time, and I was chosen to test Battlefield 3 Alpha and let me tell you even in it's current state BF3 is bad ass.
Following is the list I faced off against Six-Deucer:

My "Crux" Pattern Storm Raven.

Today, I'm going to meet up with Six-Deucer at Olympic Cards and Comics for a 2,000 point 40K throw-down. It has been some time since my last game, so I am excited to finally have the opportunity to once again deploy my Space Marines.

Off-Topic: BF3

A very quick off-topic post linking a video game that I am very excited about. The latest teaser for Battlefield 3 was released on the 20th.

Man, I wish they'd make a 40K game that looked and played like this! Could you imagine?

Space Hulk Saturday

"Covering your six- Run brother!"

I have returned after a lengthy, but enjoyable vackay out of state. Today, my nephew and I donned our Terminator suits and boarded the Sin of Damnation to purge enemies of the Emperor and recover valuable relics for the Legion.

Home for Wounded Warrior's Charity

A Battle Foam Pack 432 Bag with foam is being auctioned with proceeds going to Jared Allen's Home For Wounded Warrior's Charity. If you're not familiar with Jared Allen, it is a non-profit organization that builds and/or modifies homes for war veterans- very cool indeed.

Tuesday Throwdown 06/28/11

"We are simply numbers. Numbers that fulfill the Emperor's will."

Last week, I met up with friends at Olympic Cards and Comics (OCC) and played my first 40K game in over six months. This week, I applied new elements to my list that I wanted to try. I kept the Vanguard Vets and removed the jump packs from the rest of my assault squads in favor of Rhinos. I wanted to revisit mech (MEQ) in order to compare and contrast with jump pack units. Following is my list:

 Dante, Bishes!

After an extended hiatus, I managed to set aside the time to meet up with friends and field my 40K forces at Olympic Cards and Comics (OCC)- and let me tell you how I have missed it!
