Help Me Identify This Painted Army

So approximately 4 weeks ago, this gorgeous army was auctioned on Ebay by AA-Games located in the UK. The Ebay seller could not provide me any information as to who this amazing army previously belonged to. Although I managed to win one of the guardian lots, sadly, I did not receive the auction.

I am posting screen caps of the original auctions in the hopes that a reader may recognize this army. I would love the opportunity to pick the brain of the person responsible for painting these models as I want to apply this same paint scheme to my SM army and

BOLO: Stolen Sisters of Battle Army!

A local player recently had his army stolen in Tacoma Washington. As they are a distinct looking army, I wanted to share this information in the event any good Samaritans may have information regarding it.

7th Edition and 2014 Tournament Circuit

Now that 7th Edition is confirmed for release on the 24th of this month, I wonder which GT will be the first to utilize the new rule set? When 6th dropped in June of 2012, Brandt and the Nova Open team hit the ground running, and were the first US GT to utilize and incorporate 6th edition into a Grand Tournament. That year, Wargames Con (now dubbed, 'Texas Games Con') dodged the bullet due to that late June release date in correlation to their GT schedule. Brandt and team had to make some tough decisions with the minimal amount of play testing afforded to them due to time constraints. I didn't agree with all of the decisions that were ruled, but, under the circumstances I completely understood why certain rules and limitations were set in place for the 2012 GT.  Brandt succeeded, and in the process set the standard for the US GT circuit with regard to 40K.

2014 State of the Game

I'm going to be honest. I am fed up with the current state of 40K. It isn't the rapid release of codices, or the inclusion of supplements. It isn't the dataslates, or Escalation, or Stronghold Assault. I think all of those things are compelling. It wasn't ADB attempting to convince 3++ that all Forgeworld is approved by Games Workshop because Games Workshop has never stated 'it wasn't'

Space Marines 6th Edition Drop: Kerplunk!

I'm a Space Marine fan boy. It all started with Jim Burns' box art for Space Marine featuring epic battles in the age of heresy. At the time, this picture mingled feature's of Darth Vader's helmet with a hint of Sardaukar and the Roman Empire- I was hooked.

Big Red just posted a consolidated rumor dump for the Space Marine's anticipated September release. Among changes of note are point decreases for Tactical Squads, Sternguard, Vanguard, Biker Squads, Scouts...A decrease in points of this magnitude would cause a knee-jerk reaction in most bitter vets' (40K has produced it's own strain of bitter vets) to accuse Gee Dub of loading the plastic crack pipe. I see it as a potential to free up more points for the impending new toys rumored to be in this latest codex like:

Saturday Fluff: When Six and I first started playing 40K, it really kick-started our creative juices. Six was so inspired that he wrote four chapters of story fleshing out his Death Korps of Kriegs army, and a fallen Commissar by the name of Codan.

Its fun to create a story that provides a narrative for your army, a particular unit, a model, or character. One of the best aspects of 40K is when the game creates a narrative, and something happens that must be recorded and shared. Something completely unbelievable such as Six's lowly IG Sergeant winning three challenges in close combat against some big, bad, Dark Eldar Independent Character. We visualized the poor soul fending off his ghastly opponent with nothing more than his issued shovel and pistol- it was epic!

Dark Angels, FAQs, and Gee Dub Price Point!

I got my hands on the Dark Angels codex when it dropped. Fifty bucks was a hefty sum for a 40K book that ISN'T Forgeworld...and if it weren't for the Olympic Cards and Comics gift certificate that I received at Christmas, I probably would have passed.

Over at 40K Unorthodxy, Jancoran, inquired how I would wage war against his Foot Eldar (foot-dar) list that he recently posted. Obviously, the best way to answer such a question would be to set up a game and perhaps bat-rep it to share on the blog.

Dark Vengeance: Opening the Box

At 12:01 Saturday morning I got my copy of Dark Vengeance LTD Edition into my eager hands. I busted open the box and handled the sprues- man, the pictures don't do the models justice. The level of detail on each is really amazing.

6th Edition, Mantic, Status Update!

So, in just a couple of weeks 6th will be available for pre-order (if not actually on the shelves). I'm very excited, and am going to remain optimistic for a more concise set of game rules.
