Blood Angels: 1850 List Idea(s)
November 24th, Olympic Cards and Comics is hosting an 1850 40K Tournament that I won't be able to attend. Nevertheless, I've constructed a list as a fundamental starting point to practice and tune.
Following is the list:
1850 Pts - Blood Angels Roster

1 Mephiston, Lord of Death, 250 pts

9 Tactical Squad (Troops) [SM], 162 pts = 9 * 16 (base cost 16) + Plasma gun 10 + Plasma Cannon 5 + Sergeant 36

1 Assault Marine with Meltagun, 28 pts = (base cost 18 + Meltagun 10)
1 Assault Marine with Meltagun, 28 pts = (base cost 18 + Meltagun 10)
1 Sergeant, 28 pts
Heavy Support: Vindicator (1#, 150 pts)
1 Vindicator, 150 pts = (base cost 145 + Dozer Blade 5)
Heavy Support: Vindicator (1#, 150 pts)
1 Vindicator, 150 pts = (base cost 145 + Dozer Blade 5)
Fast Attack: Attack Bike Squad (3#, 150 pts)
3 Attack Bike Squad, 150 pts = 3 * 40 (base cost 40) + Multi-melta x3 30
I'm going to give jump packs another try, with a focus on anti-infantry. I'll include Mephiston, and more than likely ditch his codex powers for BRB powers (yah, even at an exchange rate of 3:2). Mephi's stats are still beastly, and I figure a great deterrent to enemy forces looking to move into strategic locations on the gaming table.
Fielding three attack bikes armed with multi-meltas' will prove useful against mechanized units, or blessed with prescience, provide a threat to fliers. Two Vindicator tanks will surely be dice magnets as they rush forward to consume enemy units with their strength 10 large blast markers of death. Finally, I included in this list a Space Marine Librarian Epistolary (armed with Null Zone and Force Dome), along with a ten-man Tactical squad armed with a plasma gun, a plasma cannon, and a combi-plasma.
Like I said I haven't had as much 40K play time as I'd like, but I have had the ability to listen to the 11th Company, while I work. Let me tell you, the guys have provided some great advice and ideas on how to combat blob squads, hordes, and Demon; and I've applied that advice to this list.
Thanks 11th Company! I'm hoping to field this list against a buddy in the next couple of days (Supposed to be Thursday, but a work matter may squash that play date).
In the meantime, what do you think? Thoughts and comments welcome!
